What are BEST Professional Apprenticeships?

The new BEST Professional Apprenticeships programme offers, for the first time in our sector, a professional framework combining craft competence and professional development. BEST Professional Apprenticeships allows the apprentice to progress from their Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship Programme to a technical and/or supervisory management route.

Together with their partners CIBSE, IET and CIPHE, BEST has mapped to the Engineering Council, criteria for Engineering Technician, Incorporated Engineer and Chartered Engineer across their apprenticeship qualifications.
The Advanced 'Professional' Apprenticeship comprises:

• A full Level 3 craft framework (Technical Certificate, NVQ, functional skills)
• Student membership of the appropriate professional institute
• A final year Leadership and Management module from the BEST ILM suite
